Think of someone who once believed in you more than you believed in yourself? Take a moment, by hitting your pause button, to reflect on that experience. Then, answer the following questions:

  • How did that person challenge your beliefs about yourself at the time?
  • How did you feel when you were talking and spending time with them?
  • How did this person express their beliefs in a higher potential in you?

My experiences – and grateful for those who have helped me shift limiting beliefs – were the catalyst for and conception of Invitational Leadership™. Invitational Leadership™ represents an extraordinary invitation that we, as leaders, must extend when recognizing higher potential in others. It is a remarkable gift for the learner and leader.

Why “Hitting Pause” Improves Decision Making

There is an inverse relationship between emotionally and rationally driven decision making. Most people tend to make decisions emotionally and then rationalize those same decisions.

The more emotionally attached we are to a particular outcome, the less rational we tend to become. Unless we are aware of what is driving our emotions, we are prone to emotional bias. (more…)

Mission Accomplished…Off To Explore New Horizons
